Peer Mentoring and beyond in Dundee
Congratulations to the five single parents from Dundee that successfully completed the 101 Project‘s Peer Mentoring course in April!
They’ve since gone on to become certified first aiders and are currently in the process of becoming volunteers with us. They’ll be involved in working with the 101 Project team to support our service in a variety of roles, including childcare, admin and outreach. The parents are also keen to develop and maintain our new resource hub and be on hand to offer advice to new service users.
We’re also lucky enough to have a parent with previous experience to advise us on our next venture, a lending library for both books and toys.
We were delighted that some of the parents were able to attend our ‘Giving Single Parents a Voice’ event at the Scottish Parliament on 02 June 2015 and are keen to attend similar events in the future.
The 101 Project team would like to say congratulations and well done to these parents and we look forward to working with them in the near future.
