Glasgow Volunteer Peer Mentoring
Glasgow Volunteer Peer Mentoring is an exciting new programme being introduced by Choices – One Parent Families Scotland. This will enable lone parents to share their skills and experiences with other lone parents, offering them support and encouragement as a volunteer.
Lone Parent Mentors will receive ongoing training and support throughout this experience and find helping and supporting others will give them a great sense of pride and achievement.
Peer Mentoring Training will include:
- Mentoring skills
- Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health First Aid
- Stress management
- Welfare Reform training
- Numeracy and literacy support
- Dealing with challenging behaviour
